FirstRate
"FirstRate" is software that reports on each part of a house and shows how a particular design will use energy. It can test the effect of a change instantly. This makes it easier to design an energy efficient solution.
How does the software work?
Different design features are given a score. This leads to an overall rating on a scale from 0 to 6 stars. The rating is independent of the size and type of housing. All housing has the potential to achieve a good energy efficiency rating.
Who can use the software?
Builders, designers, architects, building surveyors, planners and anyone with an interest in energy efficient house design can use the FirstRate software.
Where do I get training and support?
Accredited training providers deliver FirstRate training across the state. To rate dwellings under the Victorian 5 Star standard, you must complete training in FirstRate5.
Technical support is available for users who have any issues with FirstRate installation, printing and other technical problems. Support is also available for FirstRate users who want advice on difficult ratings.
