What you can do this year
Turn off your appliances at the wall rather than with the remote and save up to 7,700 balloons and up to $46 a year.
Have a look at the appliances at home...
Pick the right size
There's no point having a large fridge, freezer or oven if you don't need it. In general, the larger the cooking appliance and the longer the cooking time, the more energy you'll use and the more expensive your cooking costs will be.
Look for the stars
Most major household gas and electrical appliances now carry Energy Rating labels. The more stars you see, the more energy, water and money you'll save. Even a one star improvement can reduce running costs by around 10 percent.
