Take advantage of natural light
Natural light is the most energy efficient lighting source. Think about incorporating skylights into dark areas of the house. If you're building or renovating , design your windows so they provide the best natural light while minimising heat gain or loss.
Go solar
Solar-powered lights are a good option for outdoor garden lighting. You could also consider solar power for your whole house. If you install a photovoltaic system to convert the sun into electricity, you may be eligible for a government rebate.
