As a general guide, the rebate is available:
- on selected gas water heaters that have a 4 or 5 Star rating purchased from 1 July 2007
- to households that currently use a peak (day rate) electric water heater (a water heater that is ineligible for an off-peak electricity tariff) or a water heater fuelled by wood.
Amount
Rebates of up to $1000 are available.
