Renewable Remote Power Generation Program

The Renewable Remote Power Generation Program (RRPGP) provides financial support for households, communities, not-for-profit, business, government and other organisations to increase the use of renewable energy generation in areas that are not close to the main-grid electricity network.

The Renewable Remote Power Generation Program is funded by the Australian Government, through the Australian Greenhouse Office (AGO), and is administered by Sustainability Victoria in Victoria.

The main aims of the Renewable Remote Power Generation Program are to:

  • reduce greenhouse gas emissions by replacing diesel-fuelled electricity generation with renewable energy
  • help provide effective electricity supply to remote users
  • assist the development of the Australian renewable energy industry.

Amount

Rebates of up to 50 per cent (up to $200,000) of the capital cost of renewable generation and essential enabling equipment are available to applicants that fully comply with the eligibility requirements and procedures outlined in the RM sub-program guidelines.
