Star Ratings

Most major household services and appliances now carry Energy Rating labels. These include gas space heaters, gas ducted heating furnaces, gas hot water systems, room air conditioners, refridgerators, freezers, washing machines, clothes dryers and dishwashers.

A one star improvement can reduce running costs by around 10%

Every Energy Rating label has between one and six stars marked on it. The more stars you see, the less energy you use, and the more money you will save. An improvement of only one star can mean significant savings of around 10 percent.
